Privacy Policy — Easy FlashLight

Privacy Policy

Easy FlashLight  ·  Effective date: September 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Easy FlashLight ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use the App on your Android device. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

In short: the App does not ask for, and we do not collect, any personal information such as your name, email address, contacts, or location. All flashlight features run locally on your device. The App is free and supported by advertising, and it uses crash reporting and usage analytics to keep it stable and improve it. These third-party services (Google AdMob and Google Firebase) may automatically collect limited device and usage data, as described below.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect, process, or transmit:

  • Personal identifiers you would enter yourself (name, email address, phone number, etc.)
  • Precise location data
  • Photos, videos, audio, or any camera imagery
  • Motion sensor readings, Morse code text, or any content you type into the App

The App does not require an account, and we do not operate any server of our own that receives data from the App.

2. Information Collected Automatically by Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services, which may automatically collect certain device and usage information when the App runs:

Service Purpose Data that may be collected
Google AdMob Displaying banner and interstitial advertisements Advertising ID, device information, IP address, coarse location derived from IP, ad interaction data
Google Firebase Analytics Understanding how the App is used to improve its features App events (such as which modes are used), device model, OS version, coarse location (country), session data
Google Firebase Crashlytics Diagnosing crashes and improving stability Crash logs and stack traces, device state at the time of a crash, device model, OS version

These services are operated by Google and process data under Google's own privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy. For details on how Google uses data from apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

To support these services the App requests the INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions. The flashlight itself works fully offline; if there is no network connection, ads simply are not shown and the App remains usable.

3. Advertising and Consent

The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. In regions where consent is required (such as the EEA and the UK under GDPR), the App presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized ads are shown. You may choose non-personalized ads. Outside those regions, ads may be personalized based on your advertising ID unless you have limited ad tracking in your device settings.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, at any time in your device's Google settings (Settings › Google › Ads, or Settings › Privacy › Ads, depending on your device).

4. Permissions and Device Features

The App uses the following device features and permissions solely to provide its core functionality:

  • Camera flash (torch): Used only to turn the LED flashlight on and off. The App never captures, records, or accesses photos or videos.
  • Notifications: Used to display a status notification while the flashlight, strobe, SOS, or Morse mode runs in the background so you can see and control it.
  • Foreground service: Used to keep precise LED timing for strobe/SOS/Morse signaling and, if you enable it, shake-gesture detection while the screen is off.
  • Motion sensor (accelerometer): If you turn on the optional "shake to light" feature, motion data is processed entirely on your device in real time to detect the shake gesture. Sensor data is never stored or transmitted.
  • Network access: Used only by the advertising, analytics, and crash reporting services described in Section 2.

5. Data Stored on Your Device

Your preferences (such as brightness level, strobe speed, screen light color, and feature toggles), your advertising consent choice, and the time an ad was last shown are stored locally on your device only. This data is deleted when you uninstall the App. If Android's system backup is enabled on your device, your operating system may include these local settings in your device backup according to your own backup configuration.

6. Data Retention

We do not retain any data ourselves, because we do not operate a server that receives data from the App. Data collected by the third-party services listed in Section 2 is retained according to their respective policies. Uninstalling the App stops all data collection by the App.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights regarding your personal data, such as the rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. Because we do not hold any personal data ourselves, such requests relate to data held by the third-party services listed above. You can also:

  • Reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings;
  • Opt out of personalized ads through the consent form (where shown) or your device settings;
  • Uninstall the App to stop all data collection by the App.

For any privacy request or question, contact us at the email address below.

9. Security

All flashlight functionality runs locally on your device. Data sent to the third-party services in Section 2 is transmitted over encrypted connections by those services' SDKs.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
