This Privacy Policy explains how the PDF Editor mobile application (the "App") handles your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

In short: Your documents stay on your device. The App does not upload your PDF files, signatures, or annotations to our servers — we do not operate any server that receives your documents. Limited, non-document data (advertising, analytics, crash, and purchase data) is processed by third-party services as described below.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

  • Your documents. All PDF viewing, editing, annotation, signing, page organization, merging, compression, and password protection are performed entirely on your device. Your files are never transmitted to us.
  • Signatures and annotations. Signatures you draw and annotations you add are stored only within your device and the documents you save.
  • Account information. The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or contact details through the App.

2. Information Collected Automatically

The App integrates the following third-party services, which may automatically collect certain device and usage information:

3. Advertising and Consent

The App displays ads served by Google AdMob. In regions where consent is required (such as the EEA/UK under GDPR), the App presents a consent form via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized ads are shown. You may choose non-personalized ads, and you can change your choice at any time in the App's settings where available, or by resetting your device's advertising ID in your device settings.

Purchasing the App's premium upgrade removes ads, which also stops ad-related data collection by the advertising SDK to the extent ads are no longer served.

4. Permissions and Device Features

  • Storage / file access. The App uses the Android system file picker (Storage Access Framework) to open and save PDFs. It only accesses the files you explicitly select.
  • Camera (document scanning). Document scanning is provided by Google ML Kit's document scanner. Captured images are processed on-device to create PDF pages and are not sent to us.

5. Data Retention

  • Files you open are temporarily cached on your device for processing. You can clear this cache at any time via your device's app settings, and it is removed when you uninstall the App.
  • The list of recently opened files is stored only on your device.
  • Data collected by third-party services is retained according to their respective policies.

6. Data Security

Because your documents are processed locally, their security primarily depends on your device. When you protect a PDF with a password, the App applies standard AES encryption to the output file. Please keep your passwords safe — we cannot recover a password-protected file if you lose the password.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can address it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights regarding your personal data, such as the rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data. Because we do not hold your documents or account data, most such requests relate to data held by the third-party services listed above. You can also:

  • Reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings;
  • Opt out of personalized ads through the consent form or device settings;
  • Uninstall the App to stop all data collection by the App.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is posted, and the effective date above will be revised accordingly. Material changes will be communicated through an app update or notice within the App.
